Septic systems are underground wastewater treatment structures commonly used in rural areas without centralized sewage systems. They use a combination of nature and proven technology to treat wastewater from household plumbing produced by bathrooms, kitchen drains, and laundry. A typical septic system consists of a septic tank and a drainage field, or soil absorption field.

Septic system maintenance means two simple things. First, the sludge (inorganic matter) that accumulates at the bottom of the tank must be pumped out periodically. Proper maintenance of your system with EcoSéptico™ will greatly reduce the number of times your system will need to be pumped.

The second part of septic system maintenance involves the bacteria needed to digest the solids. Since all households use products that kill bacteria (such as soaps, disinfectants, antibacterial products, toilet bowl cleaners), the bacteria must be replaced. If bacteria are not replaced, the septic system will fill with solid material and overflow into the disposal area, causing the system to fail again. Unlike ordinary liquids or powders, EcoSéptico’s™ advanced organic formula is particularly effective in counteracting the damage caused by bacteria-killing chemicals.

An unpleasant odor is not always the first sign of a malfunctioning septic system.  If at any time your system emits an unpleasant odor, it is a sign that you should act immediately.

Here are some other clues:

  • Wastewater collects in house drains.
  • Spongy, bright green grass in the drain field, especially during dry weather.
  • Muddy water or soil around your septic system or in your basement. The important point is to act before any of these important symptoms occur.

The right type of bacteria must be present in the septic tank to digest organic solids. If there is no bacteria, there is no digestion. Each fast-acting water-soluble bag on EcoSéptico™ contains over 10 billion active organic microorganisms that work in two ways to help clean your septic system.

Powerful enzymes help break down sewage solids, grease and other organic materials into tiny particles that are then digested by our scientifically selected culture of eight different strains of bioengineered bacteria that digest and biodegrade proteins, starches, fats and paper.

Not at all. It is non-toxic, non-pathogenic and completely harmless to man, animal, marine and plant life. When used as directed, it is 100% safe for groundwater, safe for your pets and family, and great for the environment.

Any time. However, it is always advisable to start a regular monthly application of EcoSéptico™ into your septic system before major problems arise. It will save you hundreds of dollars in the long run and keep your family and the environment safe.

It is very easy to use. Unlike many other products that normally have to be mixed with water before application, a single envelope of EcoSéptico™ only needs to be flushed down the toilet. Even if your home has several toilets, you only need one envelope to care for your entire system.

Please check the “Best if Used by” date on your package. EcoSéptico™ has a shelf life of more than two years if stored in a cabinet at room temperature, away from sunlight.

EcoSéptico™ is not a chemical drain opener that burns quickly through drain residue. Instead, our all-natural blend contains beneficial enzymes and bacteria that actually “eat” through the waste. This is a slower process. Although many times EcoSéptico™ can open clogged pipes or drains fairly quickly, a severely clogged line may require a chemical acid opener or a licensed plumber to remove the blockage and restore flow. Once flow is restored, EcoSéptico™ can help prevent future blockages from developing when used monthly.

Yes. However, it takes much longer than most organic materials. In the drains, the soap scum, oils will stick to the hair on the pipe surfaces. EcoSéptico™ digests these other materials more quickly, freeing up hair for washing in the drain.

Yes, by digesting the unpleasant bacteria and waste that cause odors.

Absolutely. It will not damage or affect pipes in any negative way.

Yes, although we recommend that the product not be consumed directly by any human or pet.

Yes, our treatment packages not only keep the enzymes healthy by working to break down the solids in your septic tank, but also help clean the lines that lead to the tank and the drain field beyond.

Absolutely. Our treatment packages provide billions of bacteria to break down solids, speed up anaerobic digestion and reduce odor in any storage tank. Just leave it in your camper or in the marine toilet and let our bacteria do the work.

Use it immediately. It is not a time-sensitive product.

All toilet paper can be flushed and you should not use any paper that is not toilet paper. This product keeps your septic tank healthy by creating a biological treatment that helps prevent sludge buildup. It is not designed to break down any paper (such as wax paper) that cannot be flushed or does not break down on its own.

This will add bacteria to the septic tank to increase the decomposition process. Temperature is not a concern.

The more than ten billion bacteria in each bag of EcoSéptico™ will proliferate (growing into hundreds of billions of active microorganisms) and continuously digest and liquefy all the solids and waste sludge inside the tank and lateral lines. This unclogs their lines and the absorbent soil, making the dewatering fields operational and effective again. Waste solids should not reach your drainage field. Bacteria counts will only begin to die once the organic matter is exhausted for digestion.

EcoSéptico™ starts working immediately after application because the bacteria are alive and not dehydrated. Any grease caps or septic odors will disappear in several days, backup or blocked systems should be up and running again in 1-2 weeks with the leach field running. The accumulated sludge will be significantly reduced in 4 – 8 weeks depending on its depth. EcoSéptico™ bacteria will continuously multiply until equilibrium and maximum efficiency is reached.

Yes. EcoSéptico™ is effective in any anaerobic septic system and was originally formulated to address large industrial and municipal wastewater treatment facilities. Its primary components have also been used in other applications such as deep storage tanks, grease traps in restaurants/hotels and animal ponds with surprising results.

EcoSéptico™ is suited to the use of toilets by large groups of people because the active bacteria count will adjust to the influx of waste. In places like hotels, restaurants, churches, event centers and other similar high-use facilities, flushing one bag in any toilet twice a month is usually enough to keep the entire septic system running smoothly.

Yes, but not as often. EcoSéptico™ is designed to revive troubled systems and restore balance to your system, preventing backups that lead to blockages, pumping and costly repairs.

No, it does not. It also does not generate corrosive ammonia, sulfur or other flammable or poisonous gases. All our components are completely natural, safe and environmentally friendly. The septic effluent produced as a result of the treatment of EcoSéptico™ is rich in nutrients and full of organic nitrogen, producing an excellent fertilizer to promote the growth of grass and plants in your drainage field and is safe for animals.

Yes. The components of EcoSéptico™ are biological, non-pathogenic, all-natural ingredients that are very safe to handle.

Yes. EcoSéptico™ will work in any anaerobic septic system, old or new, plastic, steel or concrete.

Yes. EcoSéptico™ works just as effectively on animal waste.

Unless your system is structurally damaged, there is nothing more you can do to keep your family and the environment safe.
